A exposição apresenta um conjunto de obras de base digital realizadas nos últimos 20 anos, com destaque para a robótica e a Inteligência Artificial.<br>

Trata-se de uma obra pioneira a nível mundial, que antecipou o uso crescente das máquinas e dos algoritmos na criação artística e cultural. Com a criação dos primeiros robots pintores autónomos em 2001, Leonel Moura propõe um novo tipo de arte assente na capacidade criativa de máquinas com crescente autonomia face ao artista que as constrói e desencadeia o processo. Daí que o autor fale de uma arte não-humana ou, para lá do humano.<br>

Para além das pinturas e da performance robótica, a exposição inclui ainda uma instalação sonora.<br>

<strong>Leonel Moura</strong> é um artista pioneiro na aplicação da robótica e da inteligência artificial na arte.<br>
Em 2001, criou o primeiro braço robótico capaz de gerar pinturas originais operadas por um "algoritmo de formiga". Em 2003, um enxame de ‘Robots Pintores’ foi capaz de produzir obras de arte com base em regras simples e comportamento emergente. Desde então, tem produzido diversos artbots, cada vez mais autónomos e sofisticados. RAP (Robotic Action Painter), 2006, criado para uma exposição permanente no American Museum of Natural History de Nova Yorque, é capaz de gerar obras de arte altamente criativas e únicas, decidir quando a obra está pronta e assiná-la com uma assinatura distinta.<br>

ISU (The Poet Robot), 2006, cria poemas e pinturas com letras e palavras.<br>
Em 2007 abriu o Robotarium, o primeiro zoológico dedicado a robots e vida artificial.<br>
Outras obras incluem esculturas 3D, instalações interativas, realidade aumentada, arte generativa, arte espacial e teatro com a peça R.U.R. de Karel Capek estreada em São Paulo em 2010 com 3 robots atuando ao lado de 3 atores humanos.<br>

Leonel Moura promove um novo tipo de arte baseada na criatividade da máquina.<br>
Em 2009 foi nomeado Embaixador Europeu para a Criatividade e Inovação pela Comissão Europeia.<br>

The exhibition presents a set of digitally based works created in the last 20 years, with emphasis on robotics and Artificial Intelligence.<br>
This pioneering work anticipated the growing use of machines and algorithms in artistic and cultural creativity. With the creation in 2001 of the first autonomous painter robots, Leonel Moura proposes a new kind of art based on machine autonomy ever more independent from the artist that builds the robots and triggers the process. Hence, the author speaks of non-human art or, beyond the human.<br>
In addition to the paintings and robotic performance, the exhibition also includes a sound installation.<br>

<strong>Leonel Moura</strong> is a pioneer in the application of robotics and artificial intelligence in art.<br>
