Em ‘Dirt’ Rodrigo Amado procura estruturar uma introdução ou prólogo ao seu mais recente projecto fotográfico, ‘A History of Nothing’. Com estreia agendada para o início de 2019, essa nova série de imagens toma como referência uma citação do músico, compositor e activista José Mário Branco: ‘A única coisa que vislumbro é que é preciso começar tudo de novo, mais uma vez, e é preciso começar pelo que está perto, pelo que está em baixo, no chão. É um trabalho muito mais a partir das questões biológicas, animais, da sobrevivência, do medo, do prazer, das questões básicas’.<br>

Partindo de uma reflexão artística que é, assumidamente, um ‘work in progress’, Rodrigo Amado, músico e fotógrafo, junta sob o mesmo signo todo o trabalho desenvolvido no período de 2017 / 2018 - um disco e uma série fotográfica, ambos intitulados ‘A History of Nothing’, complementados ainda por esta série de 3 imagens, ‘Dirt’. Após 6 anos sem expor, período durante o qual desenvolveu intensa actividade musical, esta nova fase da sua obra aponta agora para um necessário regresso às raízes, ao essencial, ao orgânico. Para este projecto, com imagens captadas em 2017 por todo o território dos Estados Unidos, Amado viajou durante 5 semanas, numa ‘road trip’ partilhada com o fotógrafo António Júlio Duarte. Conduziram de Las Vegas a New Orleans, passando pelos estados de Nevada, Califórnia, Arizona, Colorado, Novo México, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana e Texas.</span><br>

<span style="font-size:12px"><em>In ‘Dirt’, Rodrigo Amado seeks to structure an introduction or prologue to his latest photographic project, ‘A History of Nothing’. With its premiere scheduled for early 2019, this new series of images takes as reference a quote from musician, composer and activist José Mário Branco: ‘The only thing I envision is that we have to start all over again, once more, and start from what is near, from what is below, on the ground. It’s much more a process drawn from biological and animal issues, from survival, from fear, from pleasure, from primal concerns’.<br>

Rodrigo Amado, musician and photographer, gathers all the work developed in the period of 2017/2018 under the same sign - an album and a photographic series, both titled ‘A History of Nothing’, further complemented by this series of 3 images, ’Dirt’. After 6 years without exhibiting, a period during which he developed an intense musical activity, this new phase of his work now points to a necessary return to the roots, to the essential, to the organic. For this project, with images captured in 2017 all over the United States territory, Amado travelled for 5 weeks, on a shared road trip with photographer António Júlio Duarte. They drove from Las Vegas to New Orleans, through Nevada, California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.<br>
