"Narrativas das e-culturas e um novo conceito de ser humano" vai ser
o tópico da manhã, apresentado pelo Professor Doutor José Teixeira Coelho. A
sessão continuará com um diálogo entre um performer e artista visual que
questiona as relações entre a máquina e o homem, um engenheiro especialista em
inteligência artificial, e um engenheiro que tem refletido sobre a interação
entre a arte e a programação/videojogos.</font></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;color:rgb(32,32,32)">Humano Digital é o primeiro de três seminários que querem lançar uma reflexão
crítica sobre as relações entre a era digital e a cultura nas sociedades e
economias contemporâneas.</span></p>

by Professor José Teixeira Coelho. The session will go on to a dialogue with a performer
and visual artist who has been reflecting on the relations between the machine
and the man; an engineer specialized in artificial intelligence, and an
engineer with a wide experience in the reflection about the interaction between

that intend to launch a critical reflection on the relations between the

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Professor Emérito da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), coordenador do grupo de estudos Culturas Computacionais no Instituto de Estudos Avançados (IEA-USP). Autor, entre muitos outros, do Dicionário Crítico de Política Cultural e de História Natural da Ditadura (Prémio Portugal Telecom de Literatura 2007), foi diretor do MAC -Museu de Arte Contemporânea da USP e curador-coordenador do MASP - Museu de Arte de São Paulo.</span></p>

</p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>Performer e artista visual, tem explorado, entre outros,
o conceito de <i>Telematic Art</i>,
utilizando o vídeo como ferramenta e a internet enquanto plataforma, procurando
aproximar as duas linguagens num só objeto de expressão, ao mesmo tempo desvendando
um público desconhecido, incógnito. Neste âmbito, tem desenvolvido uma reflexão
sobre o mundo em que vivemos, e em particular sobre como a natureza abstrata de
um movimento transmídia permite alterar as noções de espaço, de presença,
privacidade e, entre outras, fazer parte da revolução do lugar/posição do
espectador e performer.<span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><i><span lang="EN-GB"><font size="1">Performer and
visual artist, he has been exploring, among others, the concept of Telematic
Art, using video as a tool and the internet as a platform, aiming to bring the
two languages into a single object of expression, and at the same time
'uncovering' an unknown audience. In this context, he is developing a
reflection about the world, and in particular on how the abstract nature of a
transmedia movement changes the notions of space, presence, privacy, on the one
hand; and, on the other hand, may configure a revolution of the place /
position of the spectator and the performer.</font></span></i><span lang="EN-GB"><span></span></span></font></p>

mestre em inteligência artificial e doutorado em engenharia informática
(Universidade do Porto), tem investigado sobre Inteligência Artificial, com
enfoque especial em Processamento de Linguagem Natural (PLN) e Aprendizagem
Automática. Colaborou com várias empresas (como a Portugal Telecom e a Amazon),
e é atualmente CTO da TonicApp.com, uma <i>startup</i>
dedicada ao desenvolvimento de ferramentas de produtividade para médicos. Em
2017 foi orador convidado do TedXPorto onde abordou a temática da Inteligência Artificial e as suas implicações na sociedade.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12pt;line-height:115%"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif" size="1"><i><span lang="EN-GB">Graduated as mechanical engineer,
he has a master degree in artificial intelligence and a PhD in computer
engineering (University of Porto). He has been researching on Artificial
Intelligence, with a special focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Automatic
Learning. He has collaborated with several companies (such as Portugal Telecom
and Amazon) and is currently CTO in TonicApp.com, a start-up dedicated to the
development of productivity tools for health professionals. In 2017 he was
guest speaker at TedXPorto, where he addressed the theme of Artificial

mestre e doutorado em Artes pela Escola de Comunicações e Artes da USP, onde
permanece investigador no IEA-USP. Enquanto desenvolvedor de jogos, é sócio-fundador
da Perceptum Software Lda. <span> </span>É gerente do
núcleo de Inovação / Observatório do Instituto Itaú Cultural. Os principais
temas de atividade são: jogos, realidade virtual, comportamento artificial, e
arte e tecnologia.<span></span></span></p>
