A poesia de Amy Hollowell é ilimitada, sem fronteiras, tal como a realidade na qual medita. Esta autora norte-americana, radicada em Paris, escreve tanto pelo Finnegans Wake, como acerca de Cristiano Ronaldo: abraça tudo. E nesse gesto de querer dizer o mundo todo torna-nos mais humanos, a nós, seus leitores. Essa transmissão é realizada de uma forma selvagem, ou seja, natural, não cultivada, próxima da natureza. São refúgios, os seus versos: “sem princípio/ nem fim –/a minha pesquisa/ contínuo movimento.”<br>

Num dos seus ensaios, <a href="https://sismografo.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ab4eb899b20a1f87e612121f6&id=39d799ef3a&e=cef51d0ed5" target="_blank" style="word-wrap: break-word;-ms-text-size-adjust: 100%;-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;color: #ea5b3a;font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">Jean Wahl</a> afirma que a obra de arte é simultaneamente uma essência e um fenómeno. E acrescenta: “Há uma essência do poema, há uma essência do poeta. E não só há uma essência do poeta e uma essência do poema, mas podemos dizer que certos poetas, pelo menos na poesia criada a partir de uma certa época, procuram a essência. Que eles vejam a essência à maneira de Mallarmé, como qualquer coisa de cristalizada e congelada, ou como <a href="https://sismografo.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ab4eb899b20a1f87e612121f6&id=d6d1681cbe&e=cef51d0ed5" target="_blank" style="word-wrap: break-word;-ms-text-size-adjust: 100%;-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;color: #ea5b3a;font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">Shelley</a>, como qualquer coisa essencialmente fluida, é sempre uma essência que eles procuram e uma essência-fenómeno que eles criam no poema”.<br>

O filósofo francês cita então o poema “A uma cotovia”, de Percy Bysshe Shelley, traduzido para português por Fernando Pessoa, de onde destaca o verso “Ce que tu es, nous le savons pas.” [“O que és não sabemos.”]. Wahl nota ainda que “aquilo que procura Shelley, e aquilo que ele exprime, não numa única proposição, mas em todo este poema, é o que este pássaro é ‘O que és’”<a href="#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1" title="" style="word-wrap: break-word;-ms-text-size-adjust: 100%;-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;color: #ea5b3a;font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">[1]</a>. Concluindo: “E Rilke, num soneto a Orfeu, diz: As janelas, procuremos a sua essência.”<br>

Praticante <a href="https://sismografo.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ab4eb899b20a1f87e612121f6&id=0e060db5ad&e=cef51d0ed5" target="_blank" style="word-wrap: break-word;-ms-text-size-adjust: 100%;-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;color: #ea5b3a;font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">zen</a>, na tradição de Taizan Maezumi , Amy Hollowell recebeu da sua professora, Catherine (Genno) Pagès, o nome “Tu es cela” [“Tu és isso” ou “Tu és isto”]. Falamos aqui, portanto, da procura das essências: de uma cotovia, de uma janela, de uma pessoa. E é através dos versos, livres ou sonetos, que nos aproximamos daquilo que constitui o ser e a natureza das coisas. Tal como outros poetas (Baudelaire, Mallarmé, Kenneth White, Alberto Caeiro), Hollowell também escreveu sobre pássaros: “Dois pássaros sentam-se/ preto numa saliência sob/ inchadas nuvens// então quatro poleiros/ dois a dois/ até que// voando/ um a um/ são nenhum.”<br>

Todo o mundo atravessa a poesia de Amy Hollowell: Patti Smith e Fauré, Giacometti e Lucien Freud, Ikkyu e Joyce, Angelina e Brad, YSL e Pierre Bergé – estes convocados a propósito do “Accelerated Buddha”, de Hiroshi Sugimoto –, e tantos tantos outros, como o nosso Ronaldo. Penelopando, giacometrizando, mapeando a terra e o céu, oferecendo-nos “a maior história de todos os tempos”, a escritora apropria-se, no seu último livro, de uma imagem de uma nuvem de pássaros, sombras negras recortadas num céu tardio. O que são, não sabemos. São aquilo. Basta.<br>

<span style="font-family:georgia,times,times new roman,serif"><span style="font-size:14px">Roshi Amy (Tu es cela) Hollowell, professora de Zen e poeta, nasceu e cresceu em Minneapolis mas viajou para França em 1981 para estudar literatura e história, tendo vivido em Paris desde então, e aí criando os seus dois filhos e trabalhando como jornalista e tradutora.<br>
Conheceu a sua mestre Zen, Catherine (Genno) Pagès Roshi, em 1993, e com vários outros praticantes ajudou Genno Roshi a criar a comunidade Zen laica Dana Sangha e o seu centro de prática em Montreuil, um subúrbio de Paris, em 1994.<br>
Em 2004 Amy recebe formalmente a transmissão do Dharma por Genno Roshi, tornando-se numa sucessora na linhagem de White Plum, ramo do Zen que foi trazido do Japão para o Ocidente por Taizan Maezumi Roshi, o fundador do Zen Center of Los Angeles. Nesse mesmo ano, Amy fundou a Wild Flower Zen Sangha, em França, como uma casa sem muros para os que desejem descobrir os antigos ensinamentos do Buda, aqui e agora, no coração da sua vida diária no Ocidente, no começo do século XXI. Em 2012, sob sua égide, é formalmente instituída em Portugal a congénere Associação Zen Flor Silvestre. Em Novembro de 2015, após a cerimónia de Inka, Genno Roshi atribui-lhe oficialmente o título de Roshi.<br>
Exerce desde há muitos anos o cargo de redactor-chefe no jornal International Herald Tribune e as suas traduções incluem trabalhos de Georges Bataille, Alberto Giacometti, Yves Bonnefoy, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Yasmina Khadra, Catherine Millot e Matthieu Ricard. Amy foi considerada uma das poetas de língua inglesa proeminentes em França por The Café Review e por Ekleksographia; a sua poesia tem sido objecto de numerosas publicações na Europa e nos Estados Unidos. Foi aluna do programa de escrita da Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, na Universidade Naropa, fundada por Chogyam Trungpa em Boulder, Colorado.<br>

The French philosopher then cites Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem “To a Skylark", translated into Portuguese by Fernando Pessoa, from which highlights the verse "Ce que tu es, nous le savons pas." [“What thou art we know not”]. We speak here, therefore, of the search for essences: a skylark, a window, a person. And it is through the verses, free or sonnets, that we come closer to what constitutes the being and nature of things. Like other poets (Baudelaire, Mallarmé, Kenneth White, Alberto Caeiro), Hollowell also wrote about birds: "Two birds sit/ black on a ledge under / bloated clouds // then four perch / two by two / until // flying / one by one / they are none."</span><br>

<span style="color: #000000;">The entire world goes through the poetry of Amy Hollowell: Patti Smith and Fauré, Giacometti and Lucien Freud, Ikkyu and Joyce, Angelina and Brad, YSL and Pierre Bergé - these summoned about the "Accelerated Buddha" by Hiroshi Sugimoto - and so many others, like our Ronaldo. Peneloping, Giacometing, mapping the earth and the sky, offering us "the greatest history of all time", the author appropriates, in her last book, an image of a cloud of birds, black shadows cut out in a late sky . <span style="font-size:13px">The Zen teacher and poet Roshi Amy “Tu es cela” Hollowell was born and raised in Minneapolis, but came to France in 1981 to study literature and history and has lived in Paris ever since, raising her children and making a living as a journalist.<br>
>From 1995 to 2001, she lived in the nonmonastic Zen community Dana Sangha, which she helped her teacher, Roshi Catherine Genno Pagès, create in Montreuil, a suburb of Paris. In 2004, Amy was recognized by Roshi Genno as her successor, officially receiving « dharma transmission, » and she then founded Wild Flower Zen in Paris.<br>
She has long been a staff editor at the International Herald Tribune. Named one of the leading English-language poets in France by The Café Review and Ekleksographia, she is the author of several collections of poetry and her work has appeared in numerous publications in Europe and the United States. She is a former student of the writing program at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University, founded by Chogyam Trungpa in Boulder, Colorado.<br>
Married and the mother of two children, she lives in Montreuil.</span></span><br>
