A galeria DÍNAMO é uma instituição de arte contemporânea localizada na
cidade do Porto. Foi criada em 2020 como espaço integrante da ESAP - Escola
Superior Artística do Porto. A DÍNAMO dedica-se à exposição, debate e
publicação de projectos artísticos, inaugurando a sua actividade no dia 8
de janeiro com uma exposição de Lúcia Prancha.  A entrada é livre e estão
todos convidados!

A partir de Outubro de 2021, a DÍNAMO irá abrir uma open call nacional e
internacional para artistas e curadores.
DÍNAMO Gallery is a contemporary art institution based in the city of Porto
that was created in 2020 as one of the vital spaces of ESAP – The Art
School of Porto. DÍNAMO is dedicated to the exhibition, debate and
publication of contemporary art projects. It will open its programme 8th
January 2021 with an exhibition by Lúcia Prancha.  You are all welcomed!

>From October 2021, DÍNAMO will open a call for national and international
curators and artists.

*CASA DO SOL *— LÚCIA PRANCHA

*Inauguração 8 de Janeiro, 18h — A decorrer de 8 a 23 de Janeiro Aula

CASA DO SOL é o nome da casa da escritora brasileira Hilda Hilst
(1930-2004). Muitas vezes descrita como o Marquês de Sade do Brasil, o seu
trabalho surpreendente aborda o misticismo, a insanidade, a corporificação,
o erotismo e a libertação sexual feminina. Hilst é uma das mais importantes
autoras de língua portuguesa do século XX. No entanto, o seu trabalho é
praticamente desconhecido na nossa comunidade. Durante a sua vida, a
residência de Hilst foi um importante local de encontro para escritores,
artistas e intelectuais.

No dia 6 de janeiro, pelas 18h, Lúcia Prancha apresentará, na ESAP,  um
seminário no qual abordará o vídeo em exibição. Seminário aberto ao
exterior. Hoje, a CASA DO SOL mantém o seu arquivo e hospeda um programa de
residências que permite a escritores e artistas respirarem a magia terrena
do espaço*.* CASA DO SOL foi filmado na casa e nos jardins de Hilst durante
o verão de 2019 e usa o texto de um dos contos de Hilst. Este vídeo
experimental explora a sexualidade e o colonial através da militância
política e poética da escrita de Hilst.

*Lúcia Prancha* (1985, Coruche/Portugal) obteve o seu Mestrado em Artes
pela CalArts–California Institute of the Arts (EUA) em 2015, após concluir
os estudos de MA na Universidade de São Paulo (BR, 2012) e a anterior
licenciatura em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de
Lisboa (PT, 2009). Recentemente apresentou o seu trabalho nas seguintes
mostras individuais: "CASA DO SOL", Human Resources, Los Angeles, USA;
"Bread Story: Some research for an oncoming film", LACA–Los Angeles
Contemporary Archive, Los Angeles, EUA (2019);  "a shortstoryofspeed",
Archipelago–Hordaland Kunstsenter, Bergen,NO.(2018); Chasing the Invisible,
Baginski, Galeria/Projectos, Lisboa, (2015);  "A Realidade morde a própria
cauda", Galeria Leme, São Paulo, BR (2013); entre outras. O seu trabalho
foi ainda apresentado em exposições coletivas: "Farsa", SESC Pompéia, São
Paulo, BR; "Histórias de Rostos–Variações Belting",  Museu Coleção
Berardo, Lisboa, PT (2019); MAAT–Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia
(2017, 2016);  "Terra: Bright Future" ,Solar Galeria de Arte Cinemática,
Vila do Conde, PT (2016);  na Fundação de Serralves, Porto, Portugal
(2014); Galeria Baginski, Lisboa, Portugal (2012); Terreiro  A Pele do
Invisível , 29a São Paulo Bienal, São Paulo, BR (2010);  entre outras.
Em 2016, o seu filme "Sebastião, O Fantasma" (2015) foi exibido no Les
Rencontres Internationales Nouveau Cinéma et Art Contemporain em Paris e
na Haus der Kulturen der Welt, em Berlim, no 24o Curtas Vila do
Conde–Festival Internacional de Cinema, PT. Em 2017, Prancha fez a
residência artística da Jan van Eyck Akademie em Maastricht, NDC. Durante a
Primavera de 2020 foi professora visitante na CalArts – California
Institute of the Arts. Em Outubro de 2020, CASA DO SOL integrou a
Competição Experimental Internacional do 28º Edição do Curtas Vila do
Conde, Vila do Conde, PT.

*HOUSE OF SUN by* *Lúcia Prancha - Opening 8th January, 6pm.  *

HOUSE OF SUN is the name of the house of the Brazilian writer Hilda Hilst
(1930-2004). Often described as the Marquis of Sade of Brazil, Hilst’s
astonishing work addresses subjects as mysticism, insanity, embodiment,
eroticism, and feminist sexual liberation. Hilst is one of the most
important Portuguese-speaking authors of the 20th century, however her work
is virtually unknown in our community. While alive, her house was an
important gathering place for writers, artists, and intellectuals.  Today,
the HOUSE OF SUN keeps her archive and hosts a residency programme,
allowing artists and writers to experience its earthly magic. HOUSE OF SUN
was shot in Hilst’s house and gardens during the Summer of 2019 and uses
one of her tales as text. This experimental video explores sexuality and
colonialism through the poetic and political activism of Hilst’s writings.

L. Prancha will give a talk about the work shown in ESAP, 6th January, 6 pm.

*Lúcia Prancha* (1985, Portugal) obtained her MFA from CalArts (USA) in
2015, after completing BA studies in Lisbon (PT, 2009) and MA in São Paulo
(BR, 2012). Lúcia Prancha explores the tensions between aesthetics,
perception and politics, often by rethinking specific historical and social
sites through sculpture, video and printed matter. Her work has been
exhibited at Human Resources, Los Angeles, USA; SESC-Pompeia, Sao Paulo,
BR; LACA–Los Angeles Contemporary Archive, Los Angeles, USA, Hordaland
Kunstsenter, Bergen, NO, Serralves Foundation, Porto, PT; Galeria Leme, Sao
Paulo, Brazil and Museu Berardo, Lisbon, Portugal. In 2016, her film
SEBASTIAN, THE GHOST was screened at Les Rencontres Internationales Nouveau
Cinéma et Art Contemporain in Paris and, at Haus der Kulturen der Welt,
Berlin; and the 24th Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival,
Portugal. In 2017, Prancha was in residency at the Jan van Eyck Akademie in
Maastricht, NDC. During the Spring of 2020, Lúcia is a Visiting Artist
Faculty at CalArts–California Institute of the Arts. In October 2020, CASA
DO SOL integrated the official selection of the International and
Experimental competitions of the 28th edition of Curtas Vila do Conde, Vila
do Conde, PT.

Com o propósito de celebrar a vida, o sinal e a letra do Poeta - Inventor E
. M de Melo e Castro, esta performance procura abordar a voz ou as vozes
enquanto corporeidade, onde o respirar, o ritmo, o agora da presença carnal
tem precedência sobre o logos.
Texto, voz e ruído fundem-se na ideia de uma paisagem sonora, para produzir
um espaço de associação na consciência do espectador.
Neste processo a palavra ressurgirá, em toda a sua dimensão e volume, como
sonoridade, como desconstrução poética.

*Nuno Marques Pinto* é performer, ator, músico patafísico e afins; o seu
trabalho é uma reflexão sobre a voz e a linguagem. A voz é tratada segundo
padrões formais musicais ou arquitectónicos - repetição, distorção,
sobreposição, ruído, grito - para uma música de várias línguas,
transformando o acto da fala em acontecimento, em situação, em corpo
falante.

volute, it is vowel, it is voluptuousness, it is volume, it is volition, it
is vulva, it is voice, it is voraciousness, it is revolt.” - E . M de Melo

With the purpose of celebrating the life, sign, and writings of the Poet-
Inventor E . M de Melo e Castro, this performance aims to approach the
voice, or voices, as corporeity, where breathing, rhythm, the now of the
carnal presence precedes the logos.
Text, voice and noise merge in the idea of a sound landscape in order to
produce a space of association in the consciousness of the spectator.

In this process the word will re-emerge in all its dimensions and volumes,
as sound and poetic deconstruction.

*Nuno Marques Pinto* is a performer, actor, musician, pataphysician, among
other things. His work is a reflexion on language and voice. The voice is
dealt with according to formal musical our architectonical patterns-
repetition, distortion, overlapping, noise, scream – for a multi-language
music, transforming the speech act in an event, situation, speaking body.

Dois corpos. Um opulento, rubenesco, voraz.
Outro aparentemente frágil, magro, osso a querer engolir a carne.
O peso. Dizem que ao partir perdemos todos 21 gramas, uma hipótese para o
peso da alma.
Que valor tem o corpo: em leilão, face ao outro, numa mesa de hospital, ou
num bordel?
Numa época obcecada pela imagem e pelo terabyte, queremos engolir-nos,
devorar-vos.

*Renata Portas -* actriz, dramaturga, directora artística e encenadora da
companhia teatral *Público Reservado*, que fundou em 2013. Encenou diversos
textos (incluindo assemblages) de autores como Valère Novarina, Heiner
Müller, Eurípides, Jean-Luc Lagarce, Luis Maffei, Pedro Eiras, Juan
Mayorga, Franz Kafka, Peter Handke, Jean Anouilh, entre outros (desde
2006). Concluiu o curso de Interpretação no Balleteatro (2001-2003) e
frequentou o Mestrado em Encenação na Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema
(2010). Pós-Graduação em Arte Contemporânea, ESAP - Escola Superior
Artística do Porto (2015-16). Os seus interesses principais na área do
teatro estão relacionados com a linguagem, a política e a filosofia,
visando libertar o teatro da reprodução ou mimesis. Renata Portas escreveu
peças tais como: *Interlúdio* e *Câmara-Inferno* (Companhia das Ilhas);
*Finisterra* (edições TNSJ); *A Boca de Telémaco é a Fortuna da Cas*a
(aguarda publicação); *Buraco Negro Ou Vórtice Amoroso Em Forma de
Espinho* (Público
Reservado, 2018/19).

*Telma J. Santos* - Doutorada em Matemática (2011) e em Artes Performativas
(2016). Ensinou durante 16 anos no Departamento de Matemática e 3 anos no
Departamento de Artes Cénicas, na Universidade de Évora. É artista
independente e performer. Desenvolve a sua prática nas intersecções entre a
investigação científica e a criação artística, tendo apresentado o seu
trabalho na *Performance Research, Liminalities, Leonardo,* entre outras
publicações. Estudou dança na Companhia de Dança Contemporânea de Évora e
na Escola Superior de Dança, em Lisboa. Participou em diversos workshops e
laboratórios com artistas como Guillermo Gomez-Pena & Roberto Sifuentes (La
Pocha Nostra), Nicole Peisl & Alva Noe (Forsythe Company), Elisabeth
Corbett, Vera Mantero, João Fiadeiro, Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz, Peter
Michael Dietz, entre muitos outros. Telma João Santos tem desenvolvido
projectos na área da performance desde 2016, seja como artista individual
ou integrada em projectos colaborativos com artistas como Frederico Dinis,
Márcio Pereira, Bruno Cadinha, Sal, Bárbara Fonseca, entre outros. Telma
documenta e realiza a sua investigação no âmbito de obras de outros
artistas - Flávio Rodrigues, Bruno Senune, Sérgio Diogo Matias, Joana
Castro, Bruna Carvalho - produzindo textos formais, performativos e
académicos.

*Too Much ** – From Hunger to Excess or Can I Devour You With Fork and
Knife? by Renata Portas and Telma J. Santos*

Two bodies. One opulent, Rubenesque, voracious.

The other, apparently fragile, slim, bone wanting to swallow the flesh.
The weight. It is said that when we depart, we lose 21 grams, a hypothesis
for the weight of the soul.

What is the value of the body: in an auction, facing the other, on a
hospital bed, or in a brothel?

In an age obsessed with the image and the terabyte, we want to swallow,
devour ourselves.

*Renata Portas - *actress, Playwriter, Artistic and Stage director of the
Porto theatre company *Público Reservado,* founded by her in 2013. Renata
Portas directed several plays (including assemblages) of authors like:
Valère Novarina, Heiner Müller, Euripides, Jean-Luc Lagarce, Luis Maffei,
Pedro Eiras, Juan Mayorga, Franz Kafka, Peter Handke, Jean Anouilh, among
others (since 2006). She completed the Acting course at Balleteatro
(2001-2003) and studied Theatre Directing (Master, frequency) at Escola
Superior de Teatro e Cinema (2010). She holds a Postgraduation in
Contemporary Art from ESAP - Porto Art School (2015-16). Her main interests
in theatre research are: language, politics and philosophy as ways to free
theatre from reproduction or mimesis. Renata Portas has written the
following plays: *Interlúdio* and *Câmara-Inferno* (Companhia das Ilhas);

(2016). Taught for 16 years at Mathematics Department and 4 years at
Theater Department, at the University of Évora. Since May 2019, she is an
independent artist and performer. Telma João Santos develops her practice
in the intersections between scientific research and artistic creation,
publishing in journals such as *Performance Research, Liminalities,
Leonardo,* among others. She studied dance at Évora’s Contemporary Dance
Company, at Superior Dance School in Lisbon, and participated in several
workshops and laboratories with artists such as Guillermo Gomez-Pena &
