*"PREDICT THE FUTURE TROUGH CHOCOLATE"*


 "Still(s) - trying to change"  is a cycle of 3 performative exhibitions
presented only during the opening
day, at *POSTE*. This platform, created by the Portuguese artist Teixeira
Barbosa and supported by the
non-profit Foundation Extéril based in Porto, aims to promote the
dissemination of video art.
For this cycle of 3 one-day-video-related performances I´m curating for
POSTE (July, September and
November 2014), I decided to invite 3 artists working with different
medias/mediums, and challenge them
to present a video loop created from still images and show in this 7''
"screen-sculpture-POSTE" along
with a 1h-2h durational performance related to the content of the images
shown.


The first invited artist is Beatriz Albuquerque, an interdisciplinary and
cross media performance artist
living between Porto and New York.
In "Predict the Future through Chocolate", Beatriz Albuquerque presents
this interactive performance for
the first time, at POSTE. In an intimate and informal context, this
performance will invite everyone from
the audience to learn their future through the reading of the chocolates by
the shaman Beatriz
Albuquerque. The chocolates will be thrown like dice. It will be up to the
public to believe it or not!

Beatriz Albuquerque was awarded the Prémio Revelação, 17ª Bienal de
Cerveira: Arte: Crise e

Transformação (2013); the Myers Art Prize: mixed

"Still(s) - trying to change"  é um ciclo de 3 exposições performativas
apresentadas apenas durante o dia da inauguração no POSTE. Esta plataforma,
criada pelo artista português Teixeira Barbosa e apoiada pela Fundação sem
fins lucrativos sediada no Porto de nome Extéril, tem por objectivo
promover projectos de video arte.

Para este ciclo de 3 *one-day-video-related* performances que estou a
comissariar para o POSTE (Julho, Setembro e Novembro de 2014), decidi
convidar 3 artistas que trabalham em diferentes áreas e com diferentes
*mediums,* desafiando-os a apresentar um loop de video criado a partir de
imagens paradas em jeito de “slide-show” e mostrá-las no
ecrâ-escultórico-POSTE de 7” juntamente com uma performance duracional de
1h-2h relacionada com o conteúdo das imagens apresentadas.



A primeira convidada é Beatriz Albuquerque, uma artista
interdisciplinar, *cross
media *e performer que mora entre as cidades do Porto e Nova Yorque.

Em “Saiba o Futuro nos Bombons”, Beatriz Albuquerque apresenta esta
performance interactiva pela primeira vez, no POSTE. Num contexto íntimo e
informal, esta performance convidará o público presente, a descobrir o seu
futuro através da leitura dos chocolates pela xamã Beatriz Albuquerque.

Os chocolates serão atirados como dados. Estará nas mãos do público
acreditar...ou não!
