Uma Exposição e um Livro de Nuno Coelho e Adam Kershaw

Esta exposição é composta por posters de grande formato, com desenhos de
contorno a preto-e-branco, que convidam os visitantes a preencher de cor
usando os lápis dispostos para o efeito. Os posters mostram diversos mapas
e gráficos, assim como desenhos realizados a partir de fotografias
recolhidas na viagem de um mês que Nuno Coelho e Adam Kershaw realizaram à
Palestina em 2006, onde tiveram um contacto íntimo com a complexa situação
da região. Com esta intervenção artística, os autores traduzem em
narrativas as tensões sociais que fazem parte do quotidiano daquela região
onde três continentes colidem, propondo uma nova abordagem de pensamento
sobre o conflito Israel-Palestina.

No âmbito da exposição no TAGV, será realizado uma conversa com um dos
criadores do projecto, em simultâneo com a apresentação do livro “Uma
Terra Sem Gente, Para Gente Sem Terra”. O livro inclui ensaios de diversas
personalidades internacionais, providenciando um discurso sobre a forma e
o conteúdo da exposição e permitindo uma análise transversal da abordagem
social e política deste projecto que se assume como um processo de Design
de Comunicação.

This exhibition is made up of large-format posters in black and white in
which visitors are invited to mark them up by using colored pencils
specially provided for this purpose. The posters show the various maps,
graphics and drawings made from photographs taken during Nuno Coelho and
Adam Kershaw’s month-long trip to Palestine in 2006 during which they came
in close contact with the complexities of living in that region. With this
show, Nuno Coelho and Adam Kershaw takes the social tensions that are part
of everyday living of a region where three continents collide and
translates them into narratives, offering us a new approach to thinking
about the Arab-Israeli conflict as well as a critical but also ironic
perspective on what might be seen as the absurd side of the present
situation.
