Em estirando el presupuesto / esticar o orçamento, a sua primeira  
exposição em Portugal, Eric Reyes-Lamothe propõe uma série de  
trabalhos em torno do dinheiro, concretamente na forma de papel- 
moeda. As potencialidades do material são sujeitas ao escrutínio do  
artista, através da exploração de nuances presentes em algumas formas  
de relação do dinheiro com a arte e com o mundo, num processo em que  
as qualidades físicas e simbólicas dessas ligações são forçadas a  
emergir.

Eric Reyes-Lamothe  nasceu no México, estudou na Escuela Nacional de  
Artes Plásticas (Licenciatura), no San Francisco Art Institute  
(Mestrado) e na Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Doutoramento).  
Participou em diversas exposições no México, Espanha, Perú, EUA,  
Canada, França, Polónia, Japão, e Holanda, onde em 2008 foi  
seleccionado para o Fundament Studio Residence Program em Tilburg.  
Actualmente é professor na Universidad Autónoma de Hidalgo em Real  
del Monte, no México.

For estirando el presupuesto / esticar o orçamento (stretching the  
budget), his first exhibition in Portugal, Eric Reyes-Lamothe  
proposes a series of projects about money, more specifically around  
its existence as paper-money. The material's potential is under  
scrutiny by the artist who, searching for the presence of nuances,  
explores some connections of money with art and the world at large,  
following a process that forces the emergence of both physical and  
symbolic qualities stated by those connections.

Eric Reyes-Lamothe was born in Mexico and studied at the Escuela  
Nacional de Artes Plásticas (BFA), the San Francisco Art Institute  
(MFA) and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (PhD). He has  
exhibited in Mexico, Spain, Peru, USA, Canada, France, Poland, Japan  
and the Netherlands, where in 2008 he was selected for the Fundament  
Studio Residence Program in Tilburg. Currently he is professor at  
Universidad Autónoma de Hialgo in Real del Monte, Mexico.
