Segue abaixo a reflexão que propomos para a edição de 2008.

(I)MOBILIDADE: MOBILIDADE EM CIDADES IMÓVEIS


Em 2007 o Mobilefest apresentou a reflexão "As telecomunicações e as
tecnologias da informação ao unirem pessoas e idéias não
presencialmente ajudam a diminuir o impacto da cadeia destrutiva
principalmente com a diminuição dos efeitos danosos da emissão de
carbono". "Como o celular e as tecnologias móveis podem contribuir com
o meio ambiente?"

A escolha do tema MEIO AMBIENTE buscou a mobilização da sociedade
civil face aos inúmeros desastres ambientais já em curso e por
considerarmos ser este um espaço profícuo para a experimentação
através da utilização de tecnologias móveis.

Em 2008, além da pergunta principal "Como a tecnologia móvel pode

contribuir para a democracia, cultura, arte, ecologia, paz, educação,
saúde e terceiro-setor?", a edição do Mobilefest 2008 pretende dar
ênfase a um problema contemporâneo: O precioso e valioso tempo que a
população que vive nas grandes metrópoles perde diariamente em seus
enormes engarrafamentos. Seja no modo coletivo - metrô, trem, ônibus,
vans, transporte escolar e lotação, ou no modo individual - automóvel,
motocicleta e táxi, os habitantes ficam em média uma hora e vinte
minutos por dia no trânsito e a lentidão aumenta cerca de 15% ao ano.

O tempo perdido nos deslocamentos, mais os males causados pela
poluição atmosférica, somam um prejuízo anual de R$ 4,1 bilhões aos
cofres públicos brasileiros.

Como transformar o "tempo perdido" em "tempo produtivo", utilizando o
acesso a internet móvel e diferentes formas de conexão sem fio?

Como usar melhor a tecnologia móvel quando estamos imóveis? Que tipos
de conteúdo podem ser utilizados para educação, cultura, arte através
destas tecnologias? Qual o valor da mobilidade numa cidade imóvel?
Como utilizar a tecnologia móvel para ajudar o trânsito caótico das
megalópoles? Se celulares com GPS, câmeras de monitoramento de tráfego
e etiquetas RFID em bilhetes únicos podem ajudar a fluidez do
trânsito, a maioria dos habitantes ainda ficam presos a uma rotina de
lentos deslocamentos.

Como estimular o uso do transporte coletivo proporcionando novas
formas de acesso a Internet móvel nestes meios de transporte?
Mobilidade pessoal e mobilidade coletiva.

O Mobilefest 2008 propõe que empresas, pessoas e o governo pensem em
como utilizar as tecnologias móveis para acessarem novas fontes de
informação, educação e entretenimento, transformando o "tempo perdido"
no trânsito em "tempo de inclusão digital", contribuindo para a
formação de uma sociedade que promova mais oportunidades e diminua o
impacto ambiental.
